Wael began writing professionally after being inspired by the life story of the famous Syrian poet Nizar Qabbani as portrayed in the popular Ramadan TV series. He writes primarily in English, but translates some of his work into classical Arabic in order to acknowledge the language of his ancestors.  His published poetry collections include: A Poet's Oud (2005, English), I Often Wonder (2006, English) and There is an Elephant in the Mijlis (2010, English and Arabic).  Wael's books are available at www.amazon.com or at any Magrudy's book store in the UAE.
